Over the years, we've been proud to offer the opportunity to volunteer with deviantART. We believe that our volunteers play a crucial role in helping our community develop and grow in positive ways.
The Gallery Moderator (previously known as Gallery Director) and Message Network Admin (MN@) teams have become a much loved and appreciated role, with many volunteers proudly detailing their experience in applications to enter into successful careers with companies who all recognise the value of volunteering in such a vibrant and eclectic community. Did you know that some of our now full time Staff were once volunteers? $fourteenthstar, $Moonbeam13, $pachunka, $aunjuli, $y2jenn, $damphyr, `Tachy-on, $dxd and $Ikue all volunteered in various roles -- and we are all very proud of that fact!

August 7th, 2011 marks deviantART's 11th birthdAy, but in true devious style, we're taking a whole week to celebrate! Our original plans for Deviants Appreciation Day were so huge that there was no possible way to express our love for the community in a mere 24 hours. Instead, we've created Deviants Appreciation Week, and what better time to host a week's worth of community-oriented events than in the days leading up to our birthdAy?

Updates!Team Updates
Things are super busy at the moment. As you know, we've been recruiting for 2 new positions into the CEA Team for a while. After weeks of interviews, tasks and presentations, we've sent out offers to 2 deviants who will soon be joining the team. I have to say that this round of recruitment attracted the most amazingly high standard of applicants, and it was not an easy task to make our final decisions! Over 200 people applied for the positions and it was really inspiring to speak with so many people who have such evident ambition and talent within our community.
During the recruitment process, we gave the final round of applicants a task to make a presentation to us about what they felt was an appropriate piece of community outreach that the CEA should undertake. I was really impressed by all the ideas and I'm really looking forward to expanding upon some of the ideas to make them part of our regular CEA projects.

Birthday Celebrations on dAmn!

Birthday Celebrations!

That's right! It's close to that time of year again and that means one thing... a dAmn party hosted by myself and ^Kaz-D to celebrate!

So on the 7th of August, the day that deviantART will be turning 11, come and join us in #CommunityRelations for fun, games and the chance to win prizes

What can you expect?

If you join us you'll be bombarded with games and tasks. Tasks will be thrown out at random and could be just about anything. Other games will include a sketchmatch and a treasure hunt

To join in the fun make sure you're in #CommunityRelations at 8pm BST through until 10pm on the 7th of August. You can find your local time here
