The sky is so often underestimated in terms of Photography that I felt compelled to give it a bit of love and talk about it in this weeks article. I've been following UK Storm Chasers on facebook who have been documenting the arrival of the 'demon child of Nadine' as it has been deemed. Hurricane Nadine is still out there in the Atlantic Ocean spinning around and preparing to send the UK another demon child (which is really just a tropical storm to us) and with it comes a plethora of opportunities to snap some stunning skies and horizons. Darkroom Exposed: AmbrotypesDarkroom Exposed is a series of articles highlighting talented deviants, noteworthy art and helpful information all about the Photography > Darkroom gallery on dA.
This issue features ambrotypes, which are positive images created on a sheet of glass using the wet-plate collodion process. They are also known as collodion positives. You can find out more about ambrotypes here.

People & Portraits Exposed #5 Getting your Emotive on!
It's often quite difficult to define emotion in an image. However the Emotive People & Portraits Gallery is all about that. Whether or not you have captured emotion accidentally or on purpose - your work could have a place within the gallery.

Emotive puts a lot of thought and emphasis on the emotion captured in a shot which is quite obvious given the name. However it's not all about being able to see a face with extra focus on eyes, mouth and expression. Sometimes you can capture emotively without that focus.

So to create your emotive shots, your intention must be to delve into your subjects very soul and pull out the emotion through their posture, their expressions and their stance and surroundings to convey what is usually hidden away carefully.
